Apple has been widely reported to be readying its first foldable phone to launch in 2026. While rumors have leaned towards it being a clamshell-style foldable like the Galaxy Z Flip series, a new leak now strongly indicates that will not be the case.
As revealed by Digital Chat Station, Apple's inaugural foldable phone will be a "Big Fold". Ergo, a foldable in the style of the Galaxy Z Fold and OPPO Find N lineups. The leaker also revealed the screen sizes of the first-gen Apple foldable. Apparently, the current prototype of the device is being tested with an outer display of 5.49" and an inner display of 7.74".
Those numbers are interesting, as they would make the Apple foldable the smallest of its peers. For some perspective, devices like the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold6, Google Pixel 9 Pro Fold, and Xiaomi Mix Fold 4 all sport outer screens measuring north of the 6" mark. OPPO's Find N2, released in 2022, comes the closest, as it features an inner display of 7.1" and an outer screen of 5.54".
