Leak: Suunto Race 3S gets four upgrades, including 3x brighter display

A retailer leak recently revealed that the Suunto Race 3S will also launch in a titanium version for €499. Now, a Reddit user has published a series of supposedly official marketing images that appear to reveal the design and key new features of the next-generation running smartwatch.
According to these images, the design is largely carried over from the Suunto Race S from 2024. This applies not only to the round display, the beveled bezel and the two buttons as well as the digital crown on the right-hand side, but also to the dimensions and weight – the watch has a case diameter of 45 millimeters, a thickness of 11.4 millimeters and a weight of 53 grams. As before, the case is water-resistant to 5 ATM, and it comes with a GPS module and a maps app.
The marketing material points to four significant hardware upgrades. First, the 1.32-inch AMOLED display with its resolution of 466 x 466 pixels reaches a brightness of up to 2,000 nits, compared to the predecessor's 600 nits, making it much easier to read in sunlight. Second, the screen is protected by sapphire crystal instead of Gorilla Glass, which should make it much more scratch-resistant.
Third, the internal storage, which can be used for map data and music, is doubled to 64 GB. And fourth, battery life increases from 30 to 45 hours with continuous use of the GPS module, though it is not yet known how long the watch lasts with regular use. The older Suunto Race S was advertised as offering up to five days of battery life. Rumors point to a launch on October 15.
