The intrigue surrounding the mysterious statue at The Game Awards has finally been unraveled. An earlier trademark listing hinted it would be something by Larian, and now we know for sure. It is from Larian's upcoming project: Divinity. The game continues the critically acclaimed Divinity: Original Sin series, but its timeline isn't clear.
Outside of a cinematic trailer, very little is known about the next Divinity game. The Game Awards Host Geoff Keighley says it is "bigger than Baldur's Gate 3." That sits in line with an earlier report, in which Larian said its next RPG would "dwarf them all".
Unfortunately, neither a price nor a release date is mentioned. If the new Divinity game is indeed as large as Larian claims, it is unlikely to drop in 2026. At best, we could get a Baldur's Gate 3-like Early Access period that lets us experience the story in pieces. Either way, The Elder Scrolls 6 might have some serious competition this time around.
