The Game Awards 2025 took place yesterday, and one of the revelations of 2025 won the GOTY award. As you know, it is Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, which also unveiled new free content for all players. But while this success delighted many people, the same cannot be said for the developers of Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2. Indeed, they believe they were robbed during this ceremony.
For this, it is necessary to know that this game is not bad and was even a serious candidate for the GOTY. It has a very interesting story, unique gameplay that immerses players in a realistic medieval world, and breathtaking graphics. However, these numerous strengths were not enough to compete with Clair Obscur: Expedition 33.
A situation that may seem logical to some but does not seem to please others. Indeed, on X, Tobias Stolz-Zwilling, director of communications, states that they were robbed, showing an image of a trophy from the ceremony.
Subsequently, the official Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 account shared an image familiar to all, of a dog in flames claiming that everything is fine.
Remarks that do not please everyone
It's an image that could be interpreted as a joke on the part of the developers, but that's not all. It must be said that some users took these posts on X badly, such as @reddrakonmo, who points out:
"This is unprofessional, immature, and incredibly disrespectful to your peers in the gaming industry who rightfully worked hard for their awards and success. Maybe if you even remotely tried being a "team player" in the industry, the "team" would recognize you more often.”
However, it should be noted that other tweets show the teams from both studios together, celebrating the victory of Clair Obscur: Expedition 33. Which means that all of this may have been just a joke.
