The UltraGear OLED 45GX90SA is something of a surprise entry in LG's monitor range. For context, details about the UltraGear OLED 34GX90SA, 39GX90SA and 45GX950A were already known. Although the trio were presented at different times, they have all been released together in Japan before their eventual debut in other markets.
By contrast, the UltraGear OLED 45GX90SA has not been revealed before in any capacity. Nonetheless, LG is already taking pre-orders for the monitor in Japan, where it costs JPY 289,801 (~$1,943.41) on a 24% sale from its JPY 381,317 (~$2,557) MSRP. LG has not commented on the monitor's availability globally yet, but we would be surprised if it remained exclusive to Japan.
Fundamentally, specifications for the UltraGear OLED 45GX90SA read like last year's UltraGear OLED 45GS95QE (curr. $1,697 on Amazon). For example, LG equips both with a 1440p and 800R WOLED panel that offers 0.03 ms GtG response times and a 240 Hz refresh rate. AMD FreeSync Premium and Nvidia G-Sync compatibility appear unchanged, as well.
LG has added webOS support though, which is also available across the UltraGear OLED 34GX90SA, 39GX90SA and 45GS95QE. Common on the company's Smart TVs, webOS effectively serves as a streaming platform on the UltraGear OLED 45GX90SA, whether that be from Amazon and Netflix or Nvidia GeForce Now. A second HDMI 2.1 port can be found on their rear too, along with a USB Type-C port and Bluetooth 5.0/Wi-Fi 5 connectivity.
