Inspired by the LG V50 ThinQ Dual Screen and LG G8X ThinQ, the inkReader Duo is a concept device with two E Ink displays, one of which is attached to a case accessory. Sporting a smartphone-like design, the device also has stylus support.

Before LG pulled the curtain on its smartphone business, it made some pretty interesting devices, one of which was the LG V50 ThinQ Dual Screen, a phone with a case that had a second screen, providing a unique take on dual-screen devices. That phone seems to be the inspiration behind the inkReader Duo, a concept e-reader.

Like the LG V50 ThinQ Dual Screen and the LG G8X ThinQ Dual Screen after it, the inkReader has a case accessory with a display, albeit an E Ink screen. The main device itself is shaped like a phone similar to e-readers such as the BOOX Palma 2 (available on Amazon for $279.99).

Designed by Mechanical Pixel, the inkReader Duo has a 6.2-inch Carta 1300 E Ink display with a 300 ppi. The screen on the case is also the same size and type and it connects to the main device via pogo pins. When not in use, it can display a static image or note.

The case also has a 360-degree hinge, so it can be folded back completely. There's also stylus support but it isn't clear if it works on both screens. Nevertheless, users should be able to read on one screen and take notes on the other.

The inkReader Duo should not be difficult to make but the problem might be on developing a software that makes best use of the second screen. While Amazon's Kindle software may not be able to do the trick, an Android-based custom OS might be able to pull it off.
