Update | One UI 7 leak hints Samsung Galaxy S25 Slim on track to be released later in 2025
The Samsung Galaxy S25 series launch event is around the corner, with the next Unpacked event being set for January 22. While some of the past reports suggested that the rumored Slim model may debut with the other phones in the series, recent leaks suggest otherwise. However, a new One UI 7 firmware leak hints that it's seeing steady progress.
To be specific, the first One UI 7 test build was spotted on the official server. Dug out by X user @Tarunvats33, this test firmware carries the model number SM-S937B, which is believed to be the global version of the Galaxy S25 Slim. The alleged US version of the smartphone was spotted on Geekbench earlier, and it has a similar model number.
That benchmark listing suggested that the Galaxy S25 Slim will pack a Snapdragon 8 Elite, matching the other phones in the lineup. Other reports revolving around this thin flagship phone hint that it will measure 6.4 mm, thinner than the other devices in the lineup (in case you need to charge your thin phone right now, this Iniu 22.5W mini power bank is curr. $23.29 on Amazon).
However, with this reported thinness, the Galaxy S25 Slim won't be slimmer than the rumored iPhone 17 Air. To recap, Apple's rumored thin phone is said to measure only 5.5 mm thick, which is very close to the latest 13-inch iPad Pro.
Getting back to the Galaxy S25 Slim, recent reports suggest that it will look quite similar to the Plus model of the upcoming series. Now, while it will be thinner than the other models of the lineup, Samsung has reportedly still installed a flagship camera setup, which features a 200 MP primary, 50 MP ultrawide, and a 3.5x telephoto lens.
As for the launch, the Samsung Galaxy will reportedly debut sometime in May. However, the company may tease the S25 Slim in the coming Unpacked event.
