There aren't many full-size laptops that offer the kind of portability, premium craftsmanship, display quality, and daily-use experience you'll be getting with this LG Gram 16. The ultra-light construction and the high-res and color-rich 16:10 display are the key selling points of this series, but LG also made sure this laptop doesn’t grossly compromise on anything else either. Some aspects could be improved, though, such as the poor audio and the unpleasant flex in the main chassis and lid panels. We'll get in-depth on all these in the review down below.

All told, the LG Gram 16 is a terrifically good laptop and one that offers something other manufacturers don’t: extraordinarily light weight and a big, practical screen. On top of that it has surprisingly good battery life for a laptop with a screen this big. If that’s what you’re looking for in a laptop, there aren’t many other rivals that can compete with it and there aren’t too many things to complain about, either. Aside from the lack of face unlocking, the LG Gram 16 is a fantastic laptop.

It's impossible for me to not love this laptop, and it has absolutely earned one of the highest ratings I've ever given in a review. While I couldn't find this specific storage and RAM configuration for sale, you can get it with 1TB of storage from LG's website for $1,699, or come down to 256GB for $1,399. It's absolutely worth your time and money.

The LG Gram 16 is an Intel Evo-verified laptop. The Evo platform is sort of a guarantee that you'll get a top-notch mobile experience for battery life, responsiveness, and wireless and wired connection speeds among other things. Because of the focus on mobility, though, the overwhelming majority of Evo laptops are small, with 13- or 14-inch displays. The Gram 16 is currently the only Evo clamshell with a 16-inch display. Despite the bigger screen, it's still one of the lightest Evo laptops at only 2.6 pounds (1.2 kilograms). It has incredible battery life, too. The laptop is one of a kind and, well, it's priced that way: $1,700, £1,499 and AU$2,809.

We go hands-on with LG's latest gram 16, which succeeds that gram 15 from previous years. It has a taller 16:10 display with WQXGA resolution (2560x1600), which makes it a larger 16-inch panel. It also comes with Intel's new Tiger Lake processors, so you also get Iris Xe graphics.

The LG Gram is a rather unique laptop, giving you a huge 16-inch screen in an extremely portable design, with it weighing a dainty 1199 grams. There are a few issues, such as questionable build quality and a diluted performance, but they’re worth forgiving if you want a big laptop for on-the-go work.

The LG Gram 16 is truly a jack-of-all-trades, but a master of none. That’s not necessarily a bad thing as it can serve a bunch of varying use cases in its incredibly lightweight chassis. It’s not a powerhouse like the Dell XPS 17 or 16-inch MacBook Pro, but for many consumers, it’s more than enough.

Sure, a 13-inch laptop is better for some. A more powerful, thicker one will be better for others. But the LG Gram 16 takes some elements from both and, through clever design, makes it work far better than you'd imagine. For the right user it's a stunning proposition.

The LG Gram 16 is a gorgeous laptop boasting an incredibly lightweight form factor that doesn’t compromise on performance, offering great benchmark results compared to the ultralight competition and great battery life too. Minor design changes, like the shift to a 16:10 display aspect ratio and an improved keyboard, help enhance the overall experience on offer too.

The LG Gram 16 is incredibly light, with a big screen, good keyboard, and sensational battery life, so it’s a top-notch laptop for everyday use – but it’s easy to find more CPU power and better screens if you need to tackle tougher tasks.

The LG Gram 16 (2021) is a fantastic laptop, packing Intel’s latest mobile processors and is incredibly light. Intel Evo laptops are supposed to give us a glimpse of the future of laptops, and with its ultra lightweight design and incredible battery life, in many ways the LG Gram 16 (2021) does that. However, the design is a little boring – we’d like to see future laptops have a bit more style about them. The price is incredibly high as well.

Series:
LG introduced its Gram laptop to the world four years ago with the intention to produce notebook as featherweight as possible. With the same noble intention of making it as light as possible, LG has brought forward its 2020 Gram lineup into the market. The extremely light weight of the laptops is due to the fact that the laptops are built with a specially designed, innovative magnesium-alloy frame. Apart from the light weight, this new series has also retained its Gram’s hallmark feature by retaining the svelte form factor. However, this new 2020 series has gone through quite a number of upgrades to cater for the high price tag.
The new Gram series has been introduced with four models which ranges from 14 inches to 17 inches display size along with a 2-in-1 system embedded within it. This opens the possibility for users to choose the best model which caters the individual’s preference and personal interest. As far as the battery capability is concerned, it should be noted that the 14 inches model has retained a similar battery size as the Gram series predecessor which is 72Watt-hour battery. While the 15 inches and 17 inches model cater an 80Watt-hour battery, the 14 inches model is believed to be able to operate at its best with the smaller battery due to its smaller display size. As for the 80 Watt-hour battery, LG claimed that it can provide 17 to 18.5 hours battery life after full charging. However, the real experience with the battery longevity still needs some testing in real-time with real user experience.
Despite the varying battery sizes, all four models of the Gram 2020 laptops have been enhanced with a ‘Mega Cooling’ thermal management system. This is known to be able to improvise the entire user experience and the overall performance of the models. The 17 inches model is incorporated with 16GB of RAM while the other models comes in with 8GB of RAM. The 17 inches model do have some variation due to its bigger display size. Even with the display resolution, the 17 inches sports a 2560 x 1600 display while the other models carry 1920 x 1080 display. This will obviously cater for different viewing quality and user’s viewing pleasure as well. But again, the experience itself is entirely subjective depending on the taste and interest of the individual involved.
In addition to the ones mentioned above, the Gram 2020 lineups also feature Wi-Fi 6 and Thunderbolt 3 port. While some might not consider the inclusion of Thunderbolt 3 a must, those who are gamers at heart would definitely rejoice with this addition in the laptop built. The reason being is that Thunderbolt 3 allows the connection to a more powerful external GPU which is worthwhile when it comes to gaming needs for some users. So, the Gram 2020 series can cater for both personal and professional use as well.
