LG: Extra-wide curved monitor comes with KVM switch, microphone and webcam
The 34BA85QE is a new monitor aimed at business customers or professional users. A launch date has not yet been announced, but it is expected to be available soon. It is a 34-inch monitor that offers a resolution of 3,440 x 1,440 and comes in a 21:9 format. The monitor is curved, although the curvature is relatively small with a radius of 3,800 millimeters. An IPS panel is installed, the brightness of which is specified as 300 cd/m². 99% of the sRGB color space is covered. With a refresh rate of 60 Hz and a gray-to-gray response time of 5 milliseconds, it is certainly not a monitor for video gamers.
The monitor can receive image signals via two HDMI ports, one DisplayPort and USB-C. A USB hub with two USB 3.2 Gen 1 and two USB 2.0 ports are also on board, as well as an Ethernet port. Furthermore, the 34BA85QE can function as a KVM switch if desired. When switching between two image sources, the devices connected via USB, such as a mouse or keyboard, switch at the same time. Two speakers are available, each with an output of 5 watts, while a Full HD webcam and a microphone allow for the easy setup of videocalls.
The monitor can be swiveled, tilted and adjusted in height, and a VESA mount is available. Lastly, two image sources can be displayed simultaneously.
A cheaper and already available alternative without a KVM switch can be found in the Philips 34E1C5600HE.
