Insanely slim Alienware x14 now available to order starting at $1649 USD
Thicker and heavier gaming laptops like the Alienware Area-51m have been falling out of flavor for thinner and lighter models like the Alienware x15 or x17. The latest in Dell's portfolio of ultrathin gaming laptops is the Alienware x14 first teased at CES 2022. As detailed here, the model will come with a number of unique features to extract as much performance as possible from the 12th gen Core i7 CPU and GeForce RTX GPU up to the 85 W TGP RTX 3060.
Since the Alienware x14 ships with Alder Lake CPUs, Dell simply had to wait until Intel gave the greenlight to start shipping laptops with the new processors. The MSI GE76 was the first model to ship with such CPU options early last week and the Alienware x14 will apparently follow later this month.
The starting price of $1649 USD for the base configuration includes the 14-inch FHD IPS display with Advanced Optimus and G-Sync, Core i7-12700H CPU, GeForce RTX 3050 GPU, 256 GB NVMe SSD, and 16 GB of soldered LPDDR5 RAM. Higher-end options include a more color accurate DCI-P3 FHD display, faster Core i7-12900H CPU, RTX 3060 GPU, 2 TB NVMe SSD, and 32 GB of RAM. Also keep in mind that the vapor chamber and liquid metal thermal interface are shipping only on SKUs with the RTX 3060 GPU.
Expect our full review on the Alienware x14 in the weeks to come.
