Available in yellow, blue and grey, the new Huawei AI Pet resembles a fluffball with arms, legs and a loop for attaching a keyring. It can be personalised with accessories such as spectacles, hats and ribbons.
The robot pet features round displays for its eyes, allowing it to respond to the user’s touch or voice inputs. Thanks to its built-in speakers, microphones, and integration with a chatbot app exclusive to Huawei’s HarmonyOS 5, the AI Pet can entertain and interact with its owner. The chatbot is said to be programmed to react and adjust its tone according to the user’s mood.
Since all conversations are recorded, the chatbot can use them as a reference in future interactions and automatically maintain a mood diary in the corresponding app. The Huawei AI Pet is primarily designed to provide companionship and emotional support. Measuring around 8.2 x 8 x 6.8 cm (3.23 x 3.15 x 2.68 in) and weighing 140 g (4.94 oz), the lightweight gadget promises six to eight hours of active use on a single charge. According to Huawei, the fluffball only needs recharging every other day, with a full charge of its 1,800 mAh internal battery taking around six hours.
