Huawei Watch Buds to get a successor after three years

Manufacturers have been coming up with different ways to fit earbuds into other products. There's the Lenovo ThinkBook 15 Gen 2 which has integrated earbuds, there's also the HMD-made Nokia 5710 XpressAudio which has built-in earbuds on the back, and just recently, Honor announced a mouse with ANC earbuds.
Huawei also joined in the trend a few years ago when it announced the Huawei Watch Buds which is a smartwatch that hides a pair of earbuds underneath the display. Now, more than three years after its launch, Huawei has announced a successor is on the way.
The new wearable device will launch as the Huawei Watch Buds 2, and it will be announced on April 20 alongside a slate of other products, including the Huawei Pura X Max. Huawei has even shared a poster that reveals what the new Watch Buds 2 looks like.
Based on the image, Huawei is largely keeping the design unchanged, save for the case which has been modified. The crown is also shown to have a red ring around it. However, the earbuds look the same with no distinction for left or right ears. The textured button is also still present at the 6 o'clock mark.
No technical details have been revealed yet, so we will have to wait until the launch to find out if any changes have been made under the hood. The original Watch Buds got a global release, it remains to be seen if Huawei will do the same for the second-gen model or make it exclusive to China.
