A number of impending next-gen Android flagships are thought to switch to square, off-center camera humps, the OnePlus 15 and Oppo Find X9 Pro included. The Honor Magic8 Pro will not follow this ostensibly iPhone-clone crowd, though, according to a new leak.
Its rear cameras are thought to look almost exactly like those of its Magic7 Pro predecessor, complete with the 200MP periscope zoom lens that might be necessary to keep up with its supposedly impending rival the Vivo X300 Pro.
The flash module might migrate elsewhere within the large round glass housing, though.
The 8 Pro's version of Honor's premier camera hump might also integrate a direct time of flight (dTOF) sensor to enhance its focusing capabilities. It might be found next to an additional cut-out for a new "mystery" sensor, according to the prodigious tipster Digital Chat Station.
Its function may remain unknown for now, although it could be intended as a response to the new color temperature sensor reportedly to be found in other Magic8-series rivals from Oppo and Vivo.
Finally, the Magic8 Pro's colorway options are reportedly restricted to black and white, albeit with a "nice" new finish. The 7 Pro had more of a range by contrast, including Breeze Blue and this Lunar Shadow Gray version as seen on Amazon.
