Earlier this year, Vivo executive Han Bo Xiao used his Weibo account to share details about X200 Ultra and X Fold5 before their official releases. While obviously sanctioned by Vivo, Han Bo Xiao's posts often provided more information than Vivo would on its own social media channels.
Now, the same executive has turned to a new batch of flagships that Vivo is expected to launch before the end of the year. According to Han Bo Xiao, both the Vivo X300 and X300 Pro will utilise the Samsung ISOCELL HPB as their telephoto camera sensors. Writing on Weibo, Han Bo Xiao revealed that the ISOCELL HPB is actually an ISOCELL HP9 that Samsung has customised for Vivo.
Thus, the ISOCELL HPB offers a 1/1.4-inch optical format and a 200 MP native output. Apparently, some of the customisations include a Zeiss T* lens coating to minimise ghosting and chromatic aberrations. Moreover, Han Bo Xiao states that the ISOCELL HPB boasts CIPA 4.5 image stabilisation with a customised imaging algorithm to maximise image quality.
Seemingly, the Vivo X300 will launch with a non-periscope version of the ISOCELL HPB. By contrast, Vivo will offer the X300 Pro with a periscope alternative that delivers an 85 mm equivalent focal length. The ISOCELL HPB appears to be much larger than the 50 MP and 1/2.51-inch telephoto sensor found in the Galaxy S25 Ultra (curr. $999.99 on Amazon), too. Currently, Vivo is expected to unveil the Vivo X300 and Vivo X300 Pro this October with Dimensity 9500 chipsets.
