After Tecno recently confirmed initial details about the Pova Slim 5G, the key specs of the smartphone are now known. It is scheduled to be unveiled on September 4 alongside the more affordable Tecno Spark Slim. The two smartphones are virtually identical in build, with the design based on the Tecno Spark Slim concept smartphone.
However, the mass-produced smartphones are approximately 5.95 millimeters thick, 0.2 millimeters thicker than the concept smartphone. This is particularly relevant because the devices are also thicker than the Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge, as Samsung's thinnest smartphone measures 5.8 millimeters. The biggest difference between the two models is the processor. While the Spark Slim is equipped with the MediaTek Helio G200 and thus lacks a 5G modem, the more expensive Pova Slim 5G has a MediaTek Dimensity 6400.
The Mood Light is also reserved for the more expensive model. These are LED strips in the camera module that can, among other things, indicate incoming calls. Both smartphones have a 5,160 mAh battery that is only 4 millimeters thick and can be charged via USB-C with up to 45 watts. The 156-gram case is only IP64 certified and so not completely waterproof.
Tecno installs a 50 MP main camera and an AMOLED display with a refresh rate of 144 Hz and an HDR peak brightness of 4,500 nits. The vapor chamber for cooling the processor is only 0.3 millimeters thick, while the fiberglass back measures 0.36 millimeters. Details on the remaining features, price and availability are expected to be confirmed at the launch event on September 4 at the latest.
