Rumor | Honor 80 Pro Plus will debut with the Snapdragon 8 Plus Gen 1 SoC and a 200MP main camera
Honor has been said to put the potentially killer combination of a top-end 200MP camera sensor and a Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chipset into an upcoming Android smartphone before. However, as a device of this spec is now rumored to arrive alongside 2 smaller siblings, it is possible that it might belong to the x0 series rather than the Magic flagship line.
The eminent leaker Digital Chat Station now hints that a device with features along those lines could be the flagship among a group of 3 new smartphones. The other 2 could be powered by the Dimensity 1080 and Snapdragon 778G, and have rear cameras of either 64MP or 108MP in resolution.
Therefore, the former could be a successor to the Honor 70, with the latter a replacement for the 70 Pro and their putative top-end counterpart as a 70 Pro+ replacement. One or more of them might charge at up to 66W, with a possible option on 100W at the higher end.
The last few specs would not be special in the context of premium mid-range Honor smartphones. Then again, this potential "80 series" is now believed to make up for that by finally dropping the double-barrel camera look (a patently Huawei-influenced design that the OEM has failed to shed for multiple generations now) in 2023.
