Honor "Magic5" is linked to top-end Android smartphone specs such as a 200MP main camera and 100W charging
The Honor Magic4 Ultimate Edition has arguably had better days. Not only has it just lost its (perhaps) cherished #1 spots on the DxOMark camera and display charts to the Google Pixel 7 Pro, it may now have an upcoming replacement that could dump it even further down those rankings in the near future.
The prominent leaker Digital Chat Station alleges that Honor has a new "mystery" smartphone in the works with a kitchen-sink list of specs (from the perspective of current top-end Android devices, at least). The Honor Magic4 Ultimate has a 12GB RAM SKU and supports 100W wired charging; however, what it does not have is a camera sensor of the new top-end 200MP variety.
All of these specs are now linked to its possible successor. This device, which could fall into the "next-gen Magic" category, also has a "high-frequency" display with the fast-emerging new big thing of a 1220p (or 1.5K) resolution to boot. Then again, it is said to be "flexible", which is more likely to indicate a screen that curves rather than folds.
Either way, this panel is said to be driven by the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1. Therefore, this putative next-gen Honor device that intrigues Digital Chat Station so may emerge as a new flagship - or a flagship killer, depending on when it might be released.
