Home Assistant rolls out app update with new authentication flow

A new version of the Home Assistant app for iOS has landed. The version 2026.4.1 release arrives a couple of weeks after the 2026.4.0 update. This earlier version of the app brought three new features, including Kiosk mode and support for Apple Watch folders.
The release notes for the Home Assistant iOS app version 2026.4.1 state that a re-authentication flow has been added for expired tokens. Entities linked to CarPlay can now be hidden, and the compatibility of certificates relating to the new Mutual Transport Layer Security (mTLS) authentication function is said to have been improved.
Users of the open source smart home automation software also get a range of bug fixes with Home Assistant 2026.4.1. A bug which could cause a crash following a call_service action from a deep link has been resolved. Plus, problems linked to Kiosk mode, scrolling and focusing on text fields and blank widgets, have also been fixed. You can find a screenshot of the change log below.
Home Assistant iOS app version 2026.4.0 is now available to download from the Apple App Store. Whether or when a 2026.4.1 update could also be released for users of Android devices is unclear.
