Anker Solix: Solarbanks receive exciting new features via update

Anker Solix recently launched a new product, the Solarbank Max AC. While many users are still waiting for the release of the Solarbank 4 Pro, there is other positive news from Anker’s solar brand in the meantime. Anker has released an update for its app on Android and iOS, which is primarily used for Anker Solix balcony solar systems and power stations.
Version 3.19.0 has been available for iOS and Android for a few days and introduces several exciting new features that many users have likely been anticipating. This presumably does not apply to the support for the new Solarbank Max AC or the slimmer, second-generation Smart Meter, as these are not yet on the market and are set to launch next month. However, the situation is different for other new features.
According to the update description, version 3.19.0 now allows for the configuration of a backup reserve. This enables users to set a battery reserve for scenarios such as power outages. However, this is currently only supported by the Solarbank 3 E2700 Pro and is not yet available in the settings. Refined SOC (State of Charge) charge/discharge control is intended for all Solarbanks and the Power Dock. This allows for the individual setting of a lower SOC discharge limit; previously, only 5% and 10% were possible.
On our test device, this remains the case. It is possible that a firmware update for the Solarbank 3 Pro is still required or that the function has yet to be activated. The same applies to the entirely new option to set an upper SOC charging limit, which was previously not possible at all. Additionally, the update mentions scheduled feed-in control for the Power Dock—allowing power to be fed in only at specified times—as well as functional optimizations. Although the new features are currently only available to a limited extent, it is expected that this will change soon.
