Holiday 2020 is still on: Sony updates official PlayStation 5 landing page but remains tight-lipped about the PS5's price and release date
Sony has finally revealed the key specifications for the PlayStation 5, which leaves just a few important areas left before we know all there is to know about the next-generation console. The official website for the PS5 has been recently updated with some technical information (see screenshot below) and a link to the PlayStation blog. But there’s still no price, no reveal date, no glimpse at the hardware, and no specific launch date.
However, there is some good news to take away from the recent update on the PS5 landing page. The words “Launches holiday 2020” are still present, which will be a relief to those concerned that the current coronavirus pandemic could have a serious detrimental effect on the console’s production and could even delay the expected launch period. For the moment, it appears Sony is sticking to its schedule.
There is some speculation that Sony might plan a PS5 reveal date for around the same time as the scheduled release date for Ghost of Tsushima. The action-adventure game should be available on June 26 and is currently planned as a PS4 exclusive, but it would be quite the reveal for Sony to show off a possible PS5 version of the game on an actual next-gen console.
