Garmin introduces 20 bug fixes and changes to Fenix 7, Fenix 7S and Fenix 7X smartwatches with new update

Garmin has brought even more bug fixes and improvements to the Fenix 7, Fenix 7S and Fenix 7X series, among other smartwatches. Beta Version 14.27 contains 20 changes from Beta Version 14.26, including 15 bug fixes.

Garmin has released another beta update for the Fenix 7 series, which is also available for the Enduro 2, Epix 2, Epix 2 Pro, Marq 2 and Quatix 7, as well as recent Fenix 7S and Fenix 7X models. The new update arrives only a few days after Beta Version 14.26, which succeeded Beta Version 14.24. This time, Garmin has introduced Beta Version 14.27 with various changes from last week's build.

According to Garmin, it has bundled 20 changes from Beta Version 14.26. Once again, the company has focused on bug fixes, with 15 included in Beta Version 14.27. Please see the changelog below for a full rundown of the bug fixes found in this weeks' beta build. With that said, the new beta build contains noteworthy additions and improvements, such as a smoother workout app experience than on previous software revisions.

Additionally, Garmin has added a checkmark on the start key to the backup found page and a CIQ App Rating to all CIQ Types. In other words, Garmin is no longer restricting CIQ App Ratings to 'Apps' only. Moreover, Garmin has populated the Horseback activity with more data field options and missing settings. Furthermore, the backlight should not unexpectedly activate anymore. Please note that Beta Version 14.27 is only available as an over-the-air (OTA) update when you tap 'Check for Updates' after heading to Menu, System and then Software Update.

  • Fixed issue in fish forecast where time format preference would not be respected.
  • Fixed possible issue where "Touch Disabled" banner in swimming activities would draw on top of menus.
  • Fixed possible issue where palm-to-close would not work.
  • Fixed possible shutdown when saving an activity.
  • Fixed issue where golf driver distance picker would use the wrong units.
  • Fixed issue where Spotify player would appear blank.
  • Fixed issue where connecting headphones causes playlist to restart.
  • Fixed issue where line would draw incorrect in big numbers mode for Golf.
  • Fixed issue where respiration data field would not work in an archery activity.
  • Fixed possible shutdown when using a Varia RCT715.
  • Fixed possible issue where workouts could not be deleted when accessed through the workouts app.
  • Fixed possible shutdown when opening the Workouts app.
