Garmin: New smartwatch comes with exciting design and many functions

The Garmin Descent Mk3i is now available in a new model version. Specifically, this version can be ordered in a new color that the manufacturer describes as timeless. The watch comes in two-tone titanium in silver and black. It is available directly from Garmin for 1,600 dollars. According to the manufacturer, the new model version will be ready for dispatch within one to three days. The watch is also available at a lower price in other model versions.
You can think of the Garmin Descent Mk3i as a Fenix variant with advanced diving capabilities—or as a dive computer in smartwatch form. It features an AMOLED touchscreen and is water-resistant to a test pressure of 20 ATM. With compatible accessories, the watch can display remaining tank pressure, and divers can exchange messages underwater, provided their dive partners are equipped with the same technology. It also supports dive maps, including depth visualization.
The device is equipped with a built-in LED flashlight. On land, it functions as a fully featured smartwatch, capable of tracking and analyzing workouts. According to Garmin, it can also estimate a user’s readiness for the next dive based on metrics such as sleep quality and stress levels. Battery life is rated at up to 25 days in smartwatch mode, or up to 10 days with the always-on display enabled. The watch offers 32 GB of internal storage for music and maps.
