Garmin CIRQA leaks in four colors with outdated sensor
Garmin CIRQA was first seen in a photo just a few hours ago, along with indications that the fitness and health wristband will be officially unveiled as early as Tuesday, July 21. Reddit user jneuveglise has now uncovered additional images reportedly sourced directly from an official Garmin website.
These images show the Garmin CIRQA for the first time in four colors: beige, blue, red, and black. However, Garmin only varies the color of the fabric and the clasp. The body, which houses the electronics, battery, and sensors, is always black. This leak also shows the Garmin CIRQA from multiple angles for the first time. It reveals the length-adjustable wristband as well as the "Garmin CIRQA Smart Band" inscription on the back.
Four screws suggest that the wearable can be opened relatively easily to replace the battery. However, there is no label indicating whether the device is waterproof. The charging port is the same one used in current Garmin smartwatches, so existing chargers can likely still be used. The wristband uses the same quick-release system as conventional watches, so watch straps may also be compatible.
Interestingly, these images already show that the Garmin CIRQA is equipped with the older Garmin Elevate 4 sensor instead of the more modern Elevate 5. Above all, this means that the Garmin CIRQA likely does not include a skin temperature sensor or an ECG. Garmin isn’t alone in this decision – the Polar Loop ($199 on Amazon) also uses the older Polar Precision Prime sensor instead of the Elixir sensor. The reason for this is likely cost, as rumors suggest the Garmin CIRQA will launch for €199 or $199.
