Affordable REP fitness band launches with skin temperature sensor and 10 days battery life

Fitness and health trackers without a display are becoming increasingly popular. Since the Whoop 5.0 only works with an expensive subscription, there are already several alternatives, such as the Polar Loop, the Amazfit Helio Strap, and the Fitbit Air ($99 on Amazon), that don’t require a subscription. Garmin CIRQA is said to launch soon as another alternative. However, the Indian smartwatch specialist Noise is beating Garmin to the punch and is introducing an interesting wearable called REP.
Noise REP features a 27-gram stainless steel body that’s water-resistant up to 5 ATM, available in four colors, each with matching wristbands. Despite its light weight, the wristband is said to offer a battery life of up to ten days. REP is not only expected to be more affordable than the competition but also to offer more sensors. While the Polar Loop, for example, is limited to a motion sensor and a heart rate sensor, REP additionally features an SpO2 sensor for measuring blood oxygen saturation, as well as a skin temperature sensor.
The wristband collects data around the clock and is designed to automatically recognize over 20 different workouts. Sleep, stress, and cycle tracking also occur automatically. The wristband lacks a GPS module, so you’ll need to bring a smartphone with you to track the distance covered while running. The app also features artificial intelligence designed to help interpret the collected data. Data can be synced with Apple Health, Google Health, and Strava.
Pricing and availability
Noise REP will first be launched in India. At launch, the wristband will cost INR 9,999 ($104). The price is expected to rise to INR 12,999 ($136) later on. Noise has not yet confirmed whether an international launch is planned.
