A single glance at price trackers confirms that this is indeed the lowest-ever price of the Evo-X2 gaming mini PC. Moreover since the product is sold directly by GMKtec, it is therefore eligible for a risk-free return and replacement policy.

The AMD Ryzen AI Max+ 395 APU packs a total of 16 Zen 5 cores and 16 threads, offering multi-core performance that rivals the vaunted Ryzen 9 7945HX3D in synthetic benchmarks. Apple's M4 Max does manage to edge it out slightly, but not by a huge margin. At any rate, the Evo-X2 gaming mini PC will almost certainly satiate the requirements of any CPU-intensive workflow, as indicated by our detailed review.

AMD Strix Halo brings outstanding iGPU performance

In terms of GPU performance, the integrated RDNA 3.5-based Radeon 8060S iGPU sports a whopping 40 CUs, which allows the part to outshine low-end discrete GPUs, and trade blows with mid-range GPUs such as the RTX 4070 Laptop. Clearly, gaming at moderately intensive settings should not be a hassle for the capable APU.

Our in-depth review of the Evo-X2 gaming mini PC paints an overwhelmingly positive picture in terms of performance, although we did voice our concerns regarding the lack of user-accessible memory, which is understandable considering the Strix Halo APU's unified memory. The 1 TB SSD, however, is easily upgradeable.

At its current sale price, the GMKtec Evo-X2 mini PC is a solid purchase for mini PC enhusiasts who demand high-performance and powerful integrated graphics. Folks who do not require 96 GB of memory, but can take advantage of more storage can opt for the 64 GB/2 TB variant, which is also on sale at $1,614 on Amazon.
