PC cases come in all sorts of shapes and sizes, with a few even opting for unconventional designs aimed at serving customers with specific interests and tastes. Folks who like boxy designs, and have a knack for large speakers will definitely dig the design of the Chieftec "The Cube", which was introduced recently in the EU.
The Cube: Boxy and minimal for the win
The Cube offers a very minimalist design, and comes in only one color - black. The m-ATX case is pretty compact, and should not take up too much space on any desk. One of the primary concerns surrounding compact PC cases is support for GPUs while taking space constraints into consideration. According to Chieftec, The Cube supports GPUs up to 335 mm in length.
For ventilation, dual 120 mm fans can be mounted. A 200 mm fan is pre-installed in the front, housed behind a circular vent covered with breathable fabric, which gives the PC case its signature speaker-ish look. The ports are on the top of the front panel, and include dual USB 3.0 Type-A, USB 3.2 Gen2 Type-C, audio out, and mic in.
CPU coolers are supported, as long as they are no taller than 160 mm. ATX PSUs (MSI MAG A850GL curr. $100 on Amazon) are also supported. Dual 2.5" and dual 3.5" drives can be fitted at once, which should be plenty for most customers. The 34.1-liter case measures in at 26.5 x 33.5 x 38.5 cm, or 10.43 x 13.19 x 15.16 inches and weighs 4.6 kg or 10.14 lbs.
The product is already available for sale in the EU, priced at around €70 or roughly $80. Whether or not The Cube will be available internationally anytime soon remains to be seen.
