Galax variant of Nvidia's GeForce RTX 2080 Ti claims top spot for single GPUs in 3DMark's Fire Strike Extreme
The Galax OC Gathering 2019 event has thrown up a few overclocking records, with a couple of amazing scores on 3DMark’s Fire Strike Extreme test being particularly noticeable. A renowned overclocker, who goes by the username OGS, managed to score 24,187 points in this benchmark, which has been listed as an HWBOT Global First Place result.
However, this incredible benchmark score is currently hidden on the 3DMark website, but the leaderboard for the Fire Strike Extreme test is headed by another result by OGS with 23,998 points. The overclocker used a Galax version of the GeForce RTX 2080 Ti graphics card along with an i9-9980XE processor to achieve the massive score.
These two new results have pushed another graphics card from Nvidia, the mighty Titan RTX, out of the top spot for single GPUs in the Fire Strike Extreme hall of fame. The GeForce RTX 2080 Ti used in these runs was clocked at a blazingly fast rate of 2,805 MHz, clearly demonstrating the overclocking capabilities of this graphics card. You will have to splash out US$1,799.99 if you want the same card in your system though.
