Rockstar Games is giving GTA Online players a free $1 million reward for simply logging in and playing between August 6 and 12, alongside double GTA$ on Super Yacht Life missions and triple rewards in community missions.

Rockstar Games is running a limited-time promotion that rewards GTA Online players with a free $1 million for doing almost nothing. Players who log in and play the game between August 6 and 12 will automatically receive the reward. The giveaway arrives alongside a handful of other in-game bonuses. Players will earn double GTA$ on all Super Yacht Life missions during the promotional window, along with triple rewards in community missions.

The promotion comes as GTA Online players wait for more details on the multiplayer component of GTA 6, which Rockstar has yet to reveal. GTA 6 is scheduled to launch on November 19, 2026, but the studio has stayed quiet on what its online mode will look like or when it will arrive.

Rockstar has separately confirmed that retail download codes for GTA 6 will be region-locked on PlayStation 5, a restriction that Xbox Series X|S players will not face. The confirmation follows Rockstar's earlier announcement that GTA 6 will skip a physical disc release, shipping retail copies with a download code instead.

On PS5, the download code must match the region of the buyer's PlayStation Network account in order to be redeemed. Since Sony does not officially let users change the region of an existing PSN account, players who import a code from another country risk running into activation issues. Xbox Series X|S codes carry no such restriction, giving Xbox owners more flexibility to buy from overseas stores or take advantage of regional pricing.

Rockstar groups the PS5 codes into six regional markets: North America (US and Canada), Europe (including the United Kingdom, Ireland, France, Germany, Italy, Spain, Portugal, Netherlands, Belgium, Austria and Switzerland), Japan, Asia (including Hong Kong, Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Indonesia, the Philippines, South Korea and Taiwan), Latin America (including Mexico, Brazil, Argentina, Chile, Colombia and Peru), and Oceania (Australia and New Zealand). Japanese codes carry an added catch, expiring 170 days after the November launch due to local regulations.
