GTA 6 becomes second most popular game trailer on YouTube

Rockstar released the first trailer for GTA 6 on December 5, 2023. In just 24 hours, the video garnered more than 90 million views, making it the first non-music YouTube video to achieve such views in the first 24-hour period.

Now, the Grand Theft Auto 6 Trailer 1 has surpassed the official Minecraft trailer, which held the title of the second most popular game trailer on YouTube. The GTA 6 trailer currently has nearly 169 million views on the platform. In comparison, the official Minecraft trailer now has about 168 million views, resulting in a difference of around 1 million views.

But the first trailer of Grand Theft Auto VI is still very far from the most popular game trailer on YouTube, which is the first Subway surfers trailer. Uploaded in 2012, the video with the first position in the category has over 361 million views. But that shouldn't come as a surprise because Subway Surfers has over four billion downloads.

Perhaps when Rockstar shares more information about the game, the first GTA 6 trailer will get even more attention and close in on the trailer of Subway Surfers. For those who missed it, the game will launch in 2025 on PlayStation 5 (curr. $499 on Amazon) and Xbox Series S (curr. $289 on Amazon) and Series X (1 TB curr. $449 on Amazon).
