ASRock Phantom Gaming PGO270W2A teased as a new gaming monitor with a modern 360 Hz OLED panel
ASRock has detailed the Phantom Gaming PGO270W2A, another of its new 27-inch gaming monitors, along with the PGO27QFS2A, PG27FFX2A and PG27QFW2A. Despite sharing its model name closely with the PGO27QFS2A, it appears that the PGO270W2A relies upon an entirely different OLED panel. For reference, ASRock has built the PGO27QFS2A around an LG Display WOLED panel, likely the same one used in the UltraGear OLED 27GS95QE.
By contrast, the PGO270W2A is said to utilise a Samsung Display equivalent. Specifically, TFT Central notes that it could actually be the QD-OLED panel from the Dell Alienware AW2725DF, as well as the MSI MAG 271QPX and MPG 271QRX. If that is the case, then the PGO270W2A will be AMD FreeSync Premium Pro and VESA HDR TrueBlack 400 certified with a 2,560 x 1,440-pixel native resolution.
Additionally, while the PGO270W2A also has a 360 Hz refresh rate, it will deliver this peak refresh rate over its DisplayPort connection. In comparison, the presence of HDMI 2.0 ports will limit the PGO270W2A to 144 Hz via HDMI. Moreover, the PGO270W2A will offer 99% DCI-P3 colour space coverage, 0.03 ms response times (GtG) and 400 nits peak brightness. Furthermore, TFT Central mentions the presence of a USB Type-C port, but it remains unclear whether this will be joined by USB Type-A and USB Type-B ports in a USB hub. ASRock has not mentioned pricing or a release date in its press release, though.
