The PGO34QRT2A is another ASRock gaming monitor that sits within its Phantom Gaming brand. Sporting a 1440p and 240 Hz OLED panel, the ASRock Phantom Gaming PGO34QRT2A is also VESA DisplayHDR 400 True Black certified, has three video outputs and could be the first example of an upcoming Samsung Display QD-OLED panel.

ASRock has presented the Phantom Gaming PGO34QRT2A, a new 34-inch gaming monitor. Incidentally, the PGO34QRT2A is the largest gaming monitor that it has announced this month, with the PGO27QFS2A, PGO270W2A, PG27FFX2A and PG27QFW2A all sporting 27-inch panels of varying specifications. In the case of the PGO34QRT2A, ASRock claims that it outputs at 3,440 x 1,440 pixels and 240 Hz across an OLED panel, mirroring the LG UltraGear OLED 34GS95QE.

However, while the UltraGear OLED 34GS95QE sports an 800R curvature, ASRock has given the PGO34QRT2A a subtler 1800R finish. Theoretically, the PGO34QRT2A will provide a less immersive gaming experience than the UltraGear OLED 34GS95QE, although a 1800R curvature is noticeably more curved than 3000R or 4000R examples. As TFT Central notes, ASRock may have based the PGO34QRT2A around an upcoming QD-OLED Gen 3 panel, rather than the WOLED equivalent in the UltraGear OLED 34GS95QE.

Allegedly, Samsung Display will not begin producing this 34-inch, 1440p and 240 Hz QD-OLED panel until later this year. Thus, this would likely push the release date of the PGO34QRT2A to late 2024 or early 2025; ASRock has not provided any details to this effect yet, though. Conversely, ASRock has confirmed that the 34-inch monitor will be VESA DisplayHDR 400 True Black certified, which would ensure 400 nits peak brightness when viewing SDR content. Also, the certification means that the PGO34QRT2A has a 0.0005 cd/m2 permissible black level, effectively the lowest that could be measured using current colourimeters.

Furthermore, VESA DisplayHDR 400 True Black certification guarantees 50x greater dynamic range and a 4x improvement in rise time compared to VESA DisplayHDR 1000 certified monitors like the PG558K that ASRock announced last spring during Computex 2023. On top of that, the PGO34QRT2A is said to support VESA Adaptive Sync and variable refresh rate (VRR) technology. To that end, ASRock has equipped the monitor with the following video inputs:

  • 1x DisplayPort 1.4
  • 1x HDMI 2.1
  • 1x USB Type-C
