GPD has had a relatively quiet year so far compared to competitors like AYANEO and One-Netbook. Although the company has made several product announcements in 2024, all have been updates of existing models. By contrast, AYANEO recently presented several new products, including the Pocket Micro and AM01S mini-PC. Meanwhile, One-Netbook is focusing on delivering the ONEXPLAYER X1 Mini, as well as an updated ONEXPLAYER X1.
However, GPD has now teased what could be one of its more unusual devices to date. As the image below shows, it claims to have created the world's first laptop with dual OLED displays. Based on GPD's teaser, the GPD Duo is a conventional laptop with a second display stacked on top of its primary display. Thus, the GPD Duo's form factor apepars to differ from ASUS' various Zenbook Pro Duo models, which sacrifice half of their keyboard decks for a narrow secondary display.
Depending on how narrowly you define a laptop, neither the ASUS Zenbook Duo OLED (curr. $1,499.99 on Amazon) or the Lenovo Yoga Book 9i are laptops even if they function as such and have OLED display. Hence, the GPD Duo may be occupying a particularly narrow 'world's first'. Unfortunately, GPD has not provided any other details yet. Instead, it has directed people to its Discord page for further details as and when it releases them.
