Xiaomi Redmi 13 4G: New affordable smartphone leaks with 108 MP camera and unreleased MediaTek chipset
The Redmi 12 4G (curr. $149.97 on Amazon) is nearing its first birthday. Although Xiaomi has not officially begun teasing the release of a successor yet, various sources have obtained render images and specifications of such a device. Based on the images below, it seems that Xiaomi is planning to offer various upgrades from the device it announced in mid-June 2023.
On the one hand, it appears that Xiaomi is bringing the 108 MP camera sensor of previous higher-end Redmi smartphones to one of its more basic models. Sitting within a dual camera setup, the 108 MP is unlikely to be optically stabilised (OIS). Regardless, it points to the Redmi 13 4G delivering better image quality than the 50 MP-wielding Redmi 12 4G.
Moreover, the new 108 MP sensor is said to be accompanied by a MediaTek Helio G91 Ultra chipset and a 5,040 mAh battery that supports 33 W wired charging. Furthermore, the Redmi 13 4G will sport a 6.79-inch display with a 90 Hz refresh rate. Unfortunately, the panel type and native resolution remain unknown for now. Likewise, it is unclear when Xiaomi will release the Redmi 13 4G. Nonetheless, the handset is rumoured to start at €199 with 6 GB of RAM, with an 8 GB of RAM and 256 GB of storage variant priced at €229.
