Insta360 has beaten DJI to releasing a new camera gimbal for modern smartphones. For context, the latter appears to have been working on the Osmo Mobile 7 for some time. By contrast, Insta360 has brought out the Flow 2 Pro less than six months after introducing the Flow Pro globally.
The Flow 2 Pro is actually the only new camera gimbal that Insta360 has created, contrary to a pre-release leak. From what we can gather, Argos UK incorrectly referred to Insta360's new product as the Flow 2, that or Insta360 switched names at some point during the product's development.
At any rate, the Insta360 supports Apple DockKit for native subject tracking not only in the default iOS Camera app but also in hundreds of third-party apps. The Flow 2 Pro also integrates Insta360's latest Deep Track 4.0 tracking technology, as well as other AI-assisted features like 360° Infinite Pan Tracking and real-time multi-person tracking.
The Flow 2 Pro is quoted to last up to ten hours off its 1,100 mAh battery, which will take around two hours to fully recharge. For reference, the battery contributes to an overall weight of 357 g, as does the 210 mm built-in selfie stick and 94 x 204 mm tripod. The Flow 2 Pro is now available globally in two colours, directly from Insta360 and retailers like Amazon, with a starting price of $159.99 in its Standard Bundle form. Alternatively, the camera gimbal can be picked up in Creator or Vlog Bundle packs with additional accessories.
