Deal | Fast-paced shooter with 96% positive reviews drops to half price on Steam for the first time

In Echo Point Nova, players find themselves on a mysterious planet controlled by a ruthless mercenary army. As a stranded researcher, they sabotage enemy operations, uncover ancient technologies and gradually learn more about the world around them. Instead of relying on narrow, linear levels, the shooter presents a large, seamless world where distant locations are not only visible but can actually be reached.

In terms of gameplay, the title combines fast-paced shooter action with a high degree of freedom of movement. Hoverboards, grappling hooks and other unlockable abilities make traversal a core part of the experience. The game also features intense firefights, customizable weapons and action-packed boss encounters. All of this is presented in a stylized sci-fi aesthetic with bold colors and a clean, easy-to-read visual style. Alongside the single-player mode, there is also a co-op mode for up to four players.

Echo Point Nova has made a strong impression with players: 96% of more than 7,300 Steam reviews are positive. On Metacritic, the PC version holds a Metascore of 85 and a User Score of 9.3.

The gaming press has also been impressed. In its review, GameCritics.com awarded the shooter a strong 9 out of 10, praising in particular its excellent movement system, dynamic combat and wide variety of weapons and enemies. Criticism, by contrast, focused on the almost non-existent story and gameplay that can feel somewhat repetitive in places.

Half price on Steam for the first time

Echo Point Nova was developed by US studio Greylock and released in September 2024. The shooter normally costs $24.99 on Steam, but the current 50% discount brings the price down to $12.49 until April 27. According to SteamDB, the game had previously only been discounted by up to 40%, most recently in mid-March. That makes the current offer a new all-time low. Echo Point Nova is also Steam Deck Verified, so it should run smoothly on the go.
