Deal | 6 games for $10 on Steam: Legendary shooter bundle returns to its lowest price

For many players, the Halo series includes some of the best sci-fi shooters ever made. It all began with Halo: Combat Evolved, which launched for the original Xbox in 2001 and later arrived on PC in 2003. The collection now brings together six titles. The most recent of them is Halo 4, which was released on Xbox in 2012 and came to Steam in 2020. Fans can currently pick up the full set on Steam for around $10. Halo: The Master Chief Collection normally costs about $40, but is currently discounted by 75%. According to SteamDB, that matches the best price the bundle has reached so far.
Halo tells a sci-fi story about a war between humanity and an alien alliance known as the Covenant. Players step into the role of the supersoldier Master Chief as he fights to save the world from the extraterrestrial threat. In gameplay terms, the series remains remarkably consistent for much of its run. At its core, Halo is a sci-fi first-person shooter built around a mix of traditional firefights and vehicle sections. While the individual games expand the formula with new weapons, enemies and abilities, the overall feel remains broadly similar throughout the series. Only Halo 4 breaks somewhat from the pattern, introducing more modern shooter systems such as custom loadouts and unlockable bonuses.
Below is an overview of the contents of Halo: The Master Chief Collection, including Steam ratings:
- Halo: Reach (6,275 reviews, 82% positive)
- Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary (3,264 reviews, 73% positive)
- Halo 2: Anniversary (2,353 ratings, 81% positive)
- Halo 3 (3,022 ratings, 90% positive)
- Halo 3: ODST (1,761 reviews, 86% positive)
- Halo 4 (2,705 ratings, 58% positive)

Overall, the Halo series continues to enjoy strong ratings on PC. Only Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary and Halo 4 stand out from the rest. The former is held back mainly by technical issues, while the reception to Halo 4 suggests that its revised shooter mechanics never fully won over fans. Even so, the current offer should still be appealing for players who do not yet own every entry in the series – or who are entirely new to the franchise. The next expected title in the series, incidentally, is Halo: Campaign Evolved, which is a remake of the first game.
