Following last week's datasheet leak confirming key specifications of the Fairphone 6, Winfuture has managed to obtain a series of allegedly official marketing images showcasing the mid-range phone in three colourways: Cloud White, Forest Green and Horizon Black.
Interestingly, the device’s backplate sports a unique two-piece design. By removing the lower section, users will gain direct access to the 4,415 mAh battery. Although several screws still need to be loosened, the battery isn't held in place by adhesive, making replacement quick and straightforward. A large yellow switch on the right side is used for releasing the backplate from the chassis once the two screws on the rear are removed. Replacement backplates will also be available, letting users mix and match different colours.
Similarly, reports suggest that the phone’s USB-C port, 6.31-inch LTPO OLED panel, speaker, 50 MP main camera, 13 MP ultrawide lens, and 32 MP front-facing camera are all modular and free from adhesive. The Fairphone 6 is also set to be the first device to carry the EU energy label for smartphones.
According to this energy label, the battery can power the device for 53h 15min and endure at least 1,000 charge cycles. With an IP55 rating, the phone offers some resistance to rain but isn’t entirely waterproof. Officially expected to debut on 25 June, the Fairphone 6 is rumoured to feature a Snapdragon 7s Gen 3, 8 GB of RAM and 256 GB of flash storage and launch at a price of €549 (approximately $630).
