Eve Devices is a start-up that routinely invites its fans to inform its upcoming products with their opinions and ideas. For example, it had developed 3 different concepts for its 2020 tablet between which this audience was to choose. These votes are now in, and the winning design is:...

...the Workhorse. Yes, Eve Devices has settled on this concept for the successor to the original V tablet. This follows the distribution of a survey to its community, which gathered preferences from its members on how this PC should look and (to some degree) function.

To recap, 3 concepts, each of differed somewhat in terms of materials, appearance and port placement, were released for Eve fans to mull over prior to completing this survey. The resulting winner could be said to be the most utilitarian-looking one among these, and would not, admittedly, have been our first choice here at NBC.

However, it does have some potential advantages, not the least of which is the large heat-dissipating grill found under its kick-stand. In addition, Eve Devices has cited the fact that nearly all its I/O is located towards this end of the concept tablet's sides as a factor in its apparent overwhelming popularity.

On the other hand, this choice also presents some engineering challenges, not the least of which is the optimal arrangement of its internals to address these ports' locations. In addition, Eve has stated that it may yet make some changes, such as the consolidation of the separate fingerprint reader and power button into one, prior to making the tablet a reality.

Therefore, the final Eve V 2020 may not turn out to be the Workhorse we see now.
