Epic to introduce Fortnite Playground mode with respawn ability
There’s no denying Fortnite Battle Royale offers hectic and engaging gameplay, but it can be thoroughly disheartening to find your first few attempts end up in rapid demise. Running around a map brandishing a pickaxe does not really bode well for you when faced with a Fortnite veteran aiming a pump shotgun at your avatar’s head.
So, according to a new State of Development post (V5), Epic Games has been working on a Playground Limited Time Mode that will let players become familiar with the game’s mechanics, explore the map, test out loot, respawn immediately, and it will apparently feature lots of llamas. The post highlights the fact that statistics and challenges will not be tracked in Playground mode. But it will give players the chance to get some game experience under their belts before being hammered into the ground by seasoned Fortniters.
The post also broaches a number of other developments Epic Games is working on. There is some focus on gameplay fixes and tweaks, including making improvements to controller usage. Future updates will also offer features such as in-world markers, challenge progress notifications, a Victory Royale screen for a game winner to relish, a high-resolution mini-map and improved audio to help players hear someone trying to creep up on them.
No confirmed release dates have been offered for these numerous changes; Epic only recently announced the v4.2 content update featuring the now notorious jetpack.
