Fortnite is ready for Season 5
After the changes brought by the post-meteor strike Season 4, Season 5 of Fortnite is now on its way and will kick off on July 12 at 4 AM EDT (08:00 GMT). The strange rift events that have started to appear after the recent in-game missile launch will probably play a role in Season 5 as well, but the details are not public yet.

Fortnite is not as old as other online multiplayer games with millions of players, such as World of Warcraft, Counter-Strike, or World of Tanks, but it definitely managed to quickly gain a large following. Considered by Epic Games as a cross between Left 4 Dead and Minecraft, Fortnite is now less than three days away from the Season 5 adventure of its Battle Royale mode that quickly turned into a standalone game after its introduction.

Around two months ago, Season 4 arrived with a meteor strike that changed some parts of the map completely, also adding new features and new modes. Now, the time has come for Epic Games to take the strange rift events one step further, although the changes have not been unveiled yet.

During Season 4, an in-game missile launch caused random objects to show up, such as a carriage from the Old West or the Durr Burger statue from Greasy Grove, but these rifts also cause the removal of some parts of the map. To make it all even more interesting, a real-life Durr Burger statue was placed in the real world, near Palmdale, California.

Data miners also discovered a few cosmetic items in the game's files, such as differently themed contrails, but the Season 5 remains a secret for now. We will get back to it in three days, so stay tuned until then. Obviously, if you happen to know something or simply want to share your Fortnite Season 5 expectations with us, feel free to drop a comment.
