Doom Eternal headed for Nintendo Switch as an exclusive digital release, no launch date yet
Back in March, Doom Eternal arrived for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Windows PC. Sadly, Nintendo Switch users had to wait and they are still waiting, although pre-orders could be placed for this console port. Earlier today, multiple GameStop users reported that their early orders were canceled. Fortunately, this does not mean that the console port has been slashed.
A Bethesda spokesperson told IGN: "While Doom Eternal is 100% on track for an imminent digital-only release on Nintendo Switch, the absence of a physical release at retail resulted in cancelled pre-orders."
In addition to the above, Bethesda confirmed that the affected customers will get full refunds. For now, there is no official release date, but those interested should stay tuned for more information. If everything works according to the developer's plans, Bethesda should come out with more news regarding the release scheduled of Doom Eternal for Nintendo Switch before December kicks in.
Those who own one of the compatible platforms and missed the game until now should take it for a spin. After all, many countries are already in a lockdown state or quickly heading that way and a game like Doom Eternal is a worthy time killer that lives up to the success of its predecessors.
