Here's our first look at what DOOM Eternal: The Ancient Gods Part 2 could have in store for us
Things have been fairly quiet for DOOM Eternal ever since its first DLC, The Ancient Gods Part 1, dropped in 2020. As its name somewhat suggests, there is a The Ancient Gods Part 2 incoming, and we now have our first glimpse of it thanks to eagle-eyed Reddit and Twitter (@Mlgslayer6911) users. Bethesda appears to have jumped the gun and listed DOOM Eternal: The Ancient Gods Part 2 on its website and subsequently redacted it. Its Steam achievements had shown up briefly, too, before being pulled down.
The leaked DOOM Eternal: The Ancient Gods Part 2 screenshots showcase a large, castle-like structure that could be one of the game's levels. Then there's one that showcases an abandoned, overgrown city too. We also get to see two new enemies, one UAC Guard with a chaingun and a shield and another Imp-like creature. Four additional enemy variants are talked about too, namely the Armoured Baron, Stone Imp, Screecher, and The Cursed Prowler. DOOM Eternal: The Ancient Gods Part 2's Bethesda Store listing and Steam Achievements also tell us something about a new weapon called the Sentinel Hammer.
DOOM Eternal: The Ancient Gods Part 2 also marks the end of DOOM 2016's storyline. While there is a possibility of id Software releasing other DLC for the game, the Bethesda Store listing says, "Experience the end of the Slayer's saga," indicating that there is no new single-player content planned for the game. We could still see some Master Levels being released from time to time, but that's about it. DOOM Eternal: The Ancient Gods Part 2 currently does not have a release date.
