84.5% Dell XPS 13 9345 Snapdragon X Elite review: Undercutting the Intel Core Ultra 7 | Notebookcheck
The push for Windows on ARM is getting bigger with the popular XPS 13 series now jumping on the Snapdragon Elite train. It's asking price of $1300 actually is cheaper than the Intel Core Ultra 7 model, but be prepared for some compromises related to software.
Dell's XPS 13 still lives rent-free in my head for its sleek build (and it's $500 off)
Source: Zdnet.com English
Dell's XPS 13 embodies the ultraportable, fast, cool, and efficient laptop experience all Copilot+ PCs seek to deliver. It features a bold design that you either love or you don't, but you have to give Dell credit for sticking to its vision. The minimalist approach isn't for everyone, and users that need lots of connectivity won't have much use for the spare port selection. I'd recommend this laptop to freelancers, remote and hybrid workers, and anyone that needs battery life that extends multiple days. There's an argument to be made for preferring the Intel version of this year's XPS 13, or the similarly-priced, similarly-sized Lenovo Slim 7x, which features a similar build but more utilitarian design approach.

85% Dell XPS 13 (2024) review: A sleek Snapdragon-powered ultraportable but with some compromises
Source: Hardware Zone English
The Dell XPS 13 (2024) is without a doubt one of the best Snapdragon X-based ultraportable laptops you can get today. Dell even allows you to configure your own specifications, going up to 64GB of RAM and 2TB of SSD storage with a maximum price tag of S$3,849. Our test unit by comparison is priced at S$2,849 and should serve more than well enough for productivity workloads. What’s interesting is that Dell also offers an XPS 13 (2024) with an Intel Core Ultra 200V processor, with a price starting from S$2,299. If light gaming and software compatibility are key to you, then at the very least you have an alternative processor to choose from.

80% Dell XPS 13 9345 review (Snapdragon X-Elite, 2024) review: Qualcomm makes the best of a bad design
Source: Expert Reviews English
If you can look past the usability quirks, you’d be forgiven for developing something of a soft spot for the latest incarnation of the Dell XPS 13. It isn’t particularly thin by today’s standards – especially not when compared to the likes of Apple’s Macbook Air – but it’s light and portable enough for that not to matter. It’s the Snapdragon X Elite that tips the balance here, however, narrowly justifying a fourth star. Qualcomm’s chip provides power enough for most day-to-day use, and despite the relatively small 55wh battery, it allows the XPS 13’s battery life to keep pace with the latest Intel Lunar Lake laptops in our tests. And, back in the real world, it tends to last more than a day anyway. Gaming performance is behind the pack, but for playing the odd game at low detail settings and below native resolution, it’s acceptable.

Dell XPS 13 9345 review – The Perfect Ultraportable?
Source: Laptop Media English
The Dell XPS 13 9345 is a solid-built, powerful, and light companion on the go. Its battery life is amazing despite the modest capacity of just 55Wh – 20 hours of videos. Still, keep in mind that this result is achieved with the default 1200p IPS panel. If you get a machine with one of the optional high-res touchscreens this could hinder more or less the autonomous work. The upgradability is almost non-existent but that’s something normal for all other machines that are based on the Qualcomm SoC. The gadget supports Type-C charging which sounds great on paper. However, since this laptop has just two USB4 ports, when the power adapter is plugged in, only one of the ports is available. Perhaps you have to buy an external USB splitter to deal with this issue. For normal work, this fella feels super responsive.

84% Dell XPS 13 9345 Review – An ARM and a Leg
Source: Pokde English
The Dell XPS 13 9345 could very well be the best productivity laptop for its size. It’s powerful, ultracompact, and is quite a multimedia beast. Between a tablet (iPads included) and this, I would choose this laptop in a heartbeat but ultimately, it depends on whether your workflow / use case requires specific software or not, and if you can afford its asking price of RM8,899. To me, having this package along with Dell’s class-leading aftersales support makes it worth the investment.

Review – Dell XPS 13 9345: Nice compact laptop with a superbly long battery life
Source: NLT English
And finally – the price. This specific base configuration of the Dell XPS 9345 is at RM6,999 and I think it is definitely expensive, considering that we can get a Dell XPS 13 9340 that is powered by an Intel Core Ultra 7 155H at the exact same price with the exact same design. Getting an Intel-powered laptop is definitely not going to be as power-efficient as the Snapdragon version – but at least we don’t have to worry about incompatibility issues. I honestly think that the XPS 13 is a great design with its size and weight, but the lack of an audio jack could be an issue for many people. The Snapdragon chip is an entirely different issue, so I recommend that you stay away from the Snapdragon X Elite unless you know what you’re signing up for.

The new Dell XPS 13 OLED delivers one of the best viewing experiences and delivers strong performance thanks to Intel's new Lunar Lake chips, all in a compact chassis. Though its battery life isn’t the greatest and some design elements are off-putting, its astonishing display and ultraportable design make up for its flaws.

80% Dell XPS 13 Snapdragon review: Compact, capable, costly
Source: India Today English
I think the Dell XPS 13 is on the pricier side. Just a wee bit. It does offer good hardware, powerful performance that is good enough for regular office work, and design that is minimalistic and tasteful. Its display is lovely and the Snapdragon X Elite chipset handles day-to-day workloads smoothly, and the NPU chip inside it effectively manages the latest AI software and features. Additionally, the laptop offers strong privacy features, impressive audio quality, and excellent battery life, making it a well-rounded package. But. There is always a but. The competition is strong. The Apple MacBook Air is equally versatile and, if you don’t have a preference for the Windows 11, is a better and cheaper option.

80% Dell XPS 13 (9345, Snapdragon) Review
Source: PC Mag English
The Dell XPS 13 has spent a dozen years at or near the top of the ultraportable pile, and its change from x86 to Arm processor architecture doesn't change that. It falls short of Editors' Choice honors, however, because it's more of a fashion plate than a productivity workhorse—rivals including the Lenovo X1 Carbon, the HP OmniBook X 14 (with a dimmer though adequate display but double the Dell laptop's battery life), and several Asus Zenbook OLED models provide more comfort and connectivity if less flair as conversation pieces, like our Editors' Choice award-holding Asus Zenbook 14 OLED Touch.

80% Dell XPS 13 (9345) review: Snapdragon ultraportable lacks substance
Source: Stuff TV English
Sticking a Snapdragon CPU inside the XPS 13 makes a lot of sense. Dell’s premium thin-and-light is wonderfully portable, and Qualcomm’s efficient silicon has helped boost battery life over the Intel version. Performance is basically on par, with more than enough desktop muscle for office work and simpler creative tasks, and Windows on ARM is getting better all the time. That it’s also slightly cheaper is another win. The issues I had with the old Dell XPS 13 haven’t been fixed, though. The capacitive shortcuts are more flashy than functional, the keyboard layout takes some learning, and the touchpad was especially troublesome during my testing – though this could’ve been an isolated issue with my review unit. If I was in the market for a Copilot+ laptop, I’d probably reach for a Microsoft Surface Pro or Surface Laptop before one of these.

Qualcomm’s new Snapdragon for laptops makes the Dell XPS 13 a contender again
Source: USA Today English
The Dell XPS 13 line has, in recent years, been challenged by the power consumption requirements of modern Intel processors, as we saw in the Dell XPS 13 9315. In response, Dell split the line into the more budget-conscious XPS 13, which had great battery life but mediocre performance, and the XPS 13 Plus, which delivered better (though still not excellent) performance with modest battery life. Shoppers had to choose. Dell’s new XPS 13 with Qualcomm Snapdragon X Elite reunites the XPS 13 line-up. The XPS 13 Plus is gone, replaced with this new XPS 13 as the flagship model. Confusingly, Dell still offers an Intel-powered XPS but it’s a less appealing choice, not only because it offers a less attractive Intel Core Ultra processor, but also because the standard model has just 8GB of RAM.

Against other XPS laptops in the past, the new XPS 13 (2024) is a return to form for Dell in offering a classy, modern ultrabook with beefy performance, a responsive display and decent battery life. Its keyboard also impresses, as does its Gorilla Glass trackpad. However, it’s in the context of the other Arm-based Windows ultrabooks, such as the Microsoft Surface Laptop 7 and the Samsung Galaxy Book 4 Edge, where the XPS 13 (2024) falls short with a poorer port selection, shorter battery life, and a display that while good, lacks a little bit of brightness and overall detail.

80% Dell XPS 13 (9345) Review: eXtreme Performance System?
Source: NDTV Gadgets English
The XPS in Dell stands for Extreme Performance System, and for a long time, most XPS machines have stood by that. The latest XPS 13 9345 with the Snapdragon X Elite chipset continues to do that but now does things better. The battery life is much better than Intel CPU options, and you get an excellent form factor. Although the AI features aren't there yet, the XPS 13 is a good machine for anyone looking to buy an ultrabook that offers style, good performance, excellent battery life, bright and colourful display (OLED), and is sleek and compact. As for alternatives, you can look at the Asus Zenbook S13 OLED, which costs less, offers good performance, has more ports, and has a keyboard that's not as cramped. Then there's the Apple MacBook Air 13 M3, which is similarly priced but once again offers a better keyboard experience, extra ports, and better app support.

For 2024 you now have a choice between the Intel and this version of the Dell XPS 13 with a Qualcomm Snapdragon X Elite ARM-based processor for longer battery life and cooler, quieter temperatures. This is a CoPilot+ PC with a 45 TOPs NPU and it’s available with an array of IPS and OLED 13.4” displays in a 16:10 aspect ratio. You can get it with up to 64GB RAM and a 2TB SSD. 60% Dell XPS 13 review: Snapdragon laptop leaves us wanting more
Source: PC World English
The Dell XPS 13 (9345) takes an AI-powered spin on the XPS 13, but the Snapdragon chip doesn’t offer meaningful improvements in most departments and comes with considerable downgrades just about everywhere. It’s a letdown compared to the Intel Core 7 Ultra 155H-powered XPS 13, which was itself under-performing next to the competition. The system may get the benefit of an NPU capable of 45 TOPS, but I’ve yet to see Windows taking meaningful advantage of that, and any system with even a low-level discrete GPU, such as the RTX 4050, can deliver more AI inference muscle than that. The XPS 13 (9345) is just too much for too little.

When I think of Dell's XPS 13 series of Ultrabooks, I think of generally good, highly portable laptops that are a bit overpriced. But the Dell XPS 13 (2024), equipped with Qualcomm's Snapdragon X Elite, is one of the best of this line thanks to its excellent performance and battery life. Much improved ventilation doesn't throttle the CPU, the display is phenomenal, and the build quality is leagues better than previous models. The only real downsides are the poor port selection, the inaccessible toolbar, and the steep pricing.

Source: Laptop Mag English
The Dell XPS 13 is someone’s perfect laptop. I love the design, the battery life, and the performance. But the display and keyboard are tough for me to get over. Sure, my eyes could adjust to the low-color, but my hands won’t get used to cramping up from using that keyboard. If you’re looking for a light laptop that’s still within that 13-inch range, check out the MacBook Air 13-inch. It’s everything you need except wider and deeper, offering you more space to type. But overall, if you’re comfortable with a tighter space and a duller display, the Dell XPS 13 provides a long list of positives to consider.

70% Dell XPS 13 (9345) review: Is this Copilot+ variant a winner?
Source: Digital Trends English
The switch to Qualcomm’s Snapdragon X Elite was supposed to provide a serious uptick in performance and efficiency over Intel’s Meteor Lake chipset. Surprisingly, while the performance is certainly there, battery life remained closer than I would have imagined. It’s fair to say that you won’t get better battery life than the Intel version of the XPS 13, and the MacBook Air M3 remains pretty far ahead. At the same time, the XPS 13 9345 ran a lot cooler, which is a major benefit. That alone is enough to warrant serious consideration. Then again, there will always be some degree of some uncertainty over compatibility with Windows on Arm, and it does cost an extra $150. I think that’s worth the upgrade, but it may not be a straightforward choice. Either way, I can say that if you want a small, light, and fast laptop, the XPS 13 (9345) is a solid choice.

Model:

The Dell XPS 13 (2024) impresses with its combination of ultra portability, vibrant display, powerful Snapdragon X Elite processor, and exceptional battery life, making it a top contender in the ultraportable laptop market. In terms of its design and build, this model features a sleek machined aluminium chassis, complemented by Gorilla Glass 3 on the keyboard, providing a premium feel. The minimalistic design follows the same controversial language as the XPS 13 Plus, with no physical function row, closely spaced keys, and an invisible touchpad. While these design choices might not be to everyone's taste, they give the laptop a distinctive, modern look. Weighing just 2.6 pounds and measuring 11.6 x 7.8 x 0.6 inches, the XPS 13 is highly portable, easily fitting into any bag and allowing for comfortable use in various settings. Apart from that, the keyboard, which stretches edge-to-edge, features tight key spacing, making it visually unique. Although the typing experience takes some adjustment, the keys are responsive and bouncy, providing a satisfying feel for everyday tasks. The 13.4-inch display offers a sharp 1,920 x 1,200 resolution, delivering clear text and fine details in videos. The thin bezels, part of Dell's "InfinityEdge" design, maximize screen real estate. While not OLED, the display offers decent colour accuracy with sRGB and DCI-P3 coverage, though it's somewhat muted compared to competitors like the MacBook Air. Despite this, the screen gets bright, reaching up to 455 nits, making it suitable for most environments. Although it lacks HDR support, it is still a solid performer for general content consumption and productivity tasks.

Powered by the Snapdragon X Elite X1E-80-100 processor, the Dell XPS 13 offers fantastic performance. It handles demanding tasks like multitasking with 30+ open windows and video streaming effortlessly, all while maintaining a cool temperature of 94°F—comfortable for extended use. However, the XPS 13 is not designed for high-end gaming. Titles like Civilization VI run poorly, with low frame rates, so cloud gaming services like GeForce Now or Xbox Game Pass are recommended for gamers. One of the most impressive features of the XPS 13 has to be its battery life. The laptop can last for an incredible 19 hours and 41 minutes during continuous web surfing with the display at 150 nits of brightness. This is more than four hours longer than the MacBook Air M3 and over 10 hours better than the Dell XPS 14. For users on the go, this means that one can rely on the XPS 13 throughout the entire workday without needing to recharge, making it one of the longest-lasting consumer-grade laptops available. In conclusion, with its sleek design, stunning display, top-tier Snapdragon X Elite performance, and unbeatable battery life, the Dell XPS 13 (2024) stands out as a premium ultraportable laptop. Whether for work or casual use, it offers an exceptional combination of power, portability, and longevity.

Qualcomm Adreno X1-85 3.8 TFLOPS: An integrated graphics adapter that four Qualcomm Snapdragon X processors feature, as of Sep 2024. It has 1,536 unified shaders at its disposal that are said to run at up to 1,250 MHz. The underlying architecture is reportedly in many respects the same as what was used in the Adreno 730. While thankfully faster than the aging Intel Iris Xe (96 EUs), the Adreno fails to match the Radeon 780M meaning Baldur's Gate 3, a triple-A title released in 2023, is barely playable at 1080p on low with 23 fps on average. Triple-A games of 2024 fare even worse, in no small part due to Qualcomm's subpar graphics drivers.

Modern games should be playable with these graphics cards at low settings and resolutions. Casual gamers may be happy with these cards.

There are hardly any tablets in this display size range anymore. For subnotebooks, on the other hand, it is the standard format.

The advantage of subnotebooks is that the entire laptop can be small and therefore easily portable. The smaller display also has the advantage of requiring less power, which further improves battery life and thus mobility. The disadvantage is that reading texts is more strenuous on the eyes. High resolutions are more likely to be found in standard laptops.
