The Centurion Vario R960i cargo e-bike will launch later this year. The vehicle can handle loads up to 180 kg (~397 lbs); minus the bike weight, that is around 145 kg (~320 lbs) for rider, passengers and luggage. A 250 W Bosch Cargo Line motor powers the vehicles and can deliver 85 Nm of torque.
The Vario comes with a 625 Wh Bosch PowerTube battery, and you can mount a second Bosch PowerPack battery to the bike, extending your range. The Vario has a built-in charging socket with a magnetic close cover to keep it weatherproof.
The bike has large wheels for stability; a 26-in wheel at the front and a 24-in wheel at the rear. Shimano 4-piston brakes ensure the vehicle comes to a safe stop and a speed sensor ensures the bike functions without a problem.
A 235 lm Supernova Mini 2 headlight, Axa Juno rear lights and Procraft Repel II 68 mudguards are also fitted to the bike. Plus, a Kiox display shows information such as battery charge. The bike comes with front and rear luggage racks and a built-in parking support.
Luggage bags to fit the bike, developed in partnership with Vaude, can hold up to 70 L at the back and 15 L at the front. The Centurion Vario R960i cargo e-bike will cost €5,499 (~US$5,731) and is due to be released at the end of the year.
