Mycle has launched two new e-bikes in the UK, the Cargo and the Compact Plus. The Cargo is Mycle’s first cargo e-bike, with a deck that can transport both luggage and passengers. A 250 W motor powers the e-bike, and a 15 Ah battery provides up to 60 km (~37 miles) of range.
You can choose from five pedal assistance levels matched to a seven-speed Shimano gearbox. Plus, the range can be doubled to 120 km (~75 miles) with an optional second battery.
A range of accessories is available to adapt the bike, such as a basket and a caboose. The maximum pannier load is 125 kg (~276 lbs), with a maximum combined rider and load weight of 210 kg (~463 lbs).
The Compact Plus builds on the Compact e-bike, with the same folding design coupled with extra comfort. The bike weighs 23 kg (~51 lbs), with Mycle claiming you can unfold it in 10 seconds.
The e-bike has a 250 W motor and a 10.4 Ah battery for a 50 km (~31 miles) range; 20 km (~12 miles) longer than the Compact’s range. 2.125-in tyres and a suspension fork ensure you have a smooth ride. You can use the built-in mini pannier and cargo rack to carry your bags.
You can now buy the Mycle Compact Plus for £1,299 (~US$1,591). The Mycle Cargo costs £1,899 (~US$2,328). The company claims that this makes the Cargo “one of the most competitively priced cargo bikes available”.
