Casio has launched the RANGEMAN series, a new series of solar-powered, smartwatches that combine the toughness of a G-SHOCK with the benefits of a health tracker. The shock and drop proof body protects the watch while the GPS keeps adventurers on track through wet and muddy treks.

Casio America has released the G-SHOCK RANGEMAN series of smartwatches combining the tough ruggedness of a G-SHOCK with the benefits of a health tracker. The durable body design keeps the timepiece working despite extreme shock in wet, muddy, and dusty environments.

Typical smartwatches have displays that are easily damaged because they are not protected from shock, drops, and impact. The unique G-SHOCK body structure isolates the internals and display from damage in severe environments. Large, direct control buttons and sensors are protected by anti-crush steel guards. The display is protected by the raised bezel made of sustainable, bio-based resin while the internals are fully cushioned from shock using a floating module. The watch is secured to the wrist with a non-slip urethane band.

The RANGEMAN is rated for mud, shock, and water resistance to 200 meters underwater. The RANGEMAN has a built-in GPS unit for worldwide location tracking and can continuously monitor position, altitude, compass bearing, and temperature. The health tracking features monitor heart rate, blood oxygen, steps, calories burned, and more. Bluetooth data connectivity with Apple Health, GoogleFit, and Strava is included, while post-training data analysis uses Powered by Polar software. Additional features include 5 alarms, timers, stopwatch, world time, sunrise and sunset times, and tide graph.

Besides taking a tough G-SHOCK RANGEMAN on your next expedition, make sure you are wearing sturdy, waterproof hiking boots (like these at Amazon). The new RANGEMAN GPRH1000 series arrives in black (GPRH1000-1) and vibrant yellow (GPRH1000-9) on January 19th at a MSRP of $500.
