The Casio G-Shock x Baklava GA-2100X watch could be launching soon. This collaboration was announced earlier this year, when images of the product were shared on Instagram by Action Bronson, the American rapper and presenter behind the Baklava brand.
In a more recent Instagram post, Bronson has shared a video featuring the upcoming GA-2100X watch (below). The video also heavily features the California kingsnake, though there is no link between the reptile and the watch’s design. In the caption, prospective customers are invited to sign up to the Baklava mailing list to “receive updates and participate in the upcoming Action Bronson Specializing in Life release”, which includes this watch. This suggests that its launch could be on the horizon.
The Baklava x G-Shock watch has a semi-transparent tan bezel surrounding a black watch face with a white stylized world map pattern. The smaller digital display has a red background, matching the color of the weekday indicator. Plus, there is a black bullbar and an adjustable fabric strap, which could be made from Cordura. Features of this hybrid watch are expected to include support for 31 time zones, a double LED backlight and a hands shift function to move the two analog hands out of the way of the LCD display. Plus, there should be a countdown timer, a stopwatch and multiple daily alarms.
The exact release date and pricing of the Casio G-Shock x Baklava GA-2100X watch have yet to be revealed. As a guide on the cost, other models in this series, like the GA2100-1A1, retail for $99 (curr. $84 at Amazon Marketplace). Based on the information released thus far, it seems that this will be a US-exclusive product.
