Casio G-Shock Full Metal GMC-B2100Y-1A watch with unusual band now available

The Casio G-Shock Full Metal GMC-B2100Y-1A watch is now available in the UK and Japan. This product was unveiled earlier this year, and more recently confirmed for release in these two markets.

In the UK, you can now buy the Casio G-Shock GMC-B2100Y-1A watch at the brand’s online store for £690. Customers are offered free shipping in two to four working days; alternatively, you can pay £5 for express shipping in one to two days. In Japan, this model is priced at ¥ 99,000 (~$666).

Casio’s G-Shock GMC-B2100Y-1A is a full metal watch, with stainless steel bezel and casing measuring 51.3 x 46.3 x 12.4 mm (~2.0 x 1.8 x 0.5 inches). However, rather than a metal strap, this timepiece has a Tough Silicone Band with a gunmetal vapor deposition finish protected by clear urethane. Casio suggests that the bracelet is comfortable, and the watch and strap weigh 108 g (~3.8 oz) together.

Thanks to Bluetooth connectivity, users of the GMC-B2100Y-1A can access various settings and tools via the Casio Watches smartphone app. On the watch, there is support for dual time zones or Home City time swap, a 1-second stopwatch, a countdown timer and a daily alarm. The analog dial features three hands, with the time said to remain accurate to within 15 seconds each month. There is also a date display and Tough Solar charging.

Whether or when the Casio G-Shock Full Metal GMC-B2100Y-1A watch could be released in the US or in other European countries remains to be seen.
