Anthbot’s R7 and R5 are brand-new robotic lawn mowers that come equipped with impressive features, including LiDAR and all-wheel drive. An optional trimmer arm is also available, designed to enable edge-to-edge cutting.

Anthbot will unveil its brand-new R7 and R5 robotic lawn mowers to the public at IFA 2026, which begins at the end of the week. Ahead of the event, the manufacturer presented the new flagship model and its more compact counterpart today at a media event in Berlin.

Anthbot R7: All-Wheel-Drive Flagship with Edge Trimmer

The Anthbot R7 is the first of several new robotic lawn mowers being presented at IFA with a special solution for edge trimming. The manufacturer has installed a fully automatic EdgeEase trimmer arm. It is designed to provide seamless edge cutting without manual touch-ups, even along irregular lawn boundaries. The demo at the event already looked promising. Of course, the trimmer arm can only be properly evaluated in a real-world test.

Anthbot has announced three versions of the R7. The R716 and R720 are equipped with dual mowing decks designed for lawns up to 1,600 and 2,000 square meters, respectively, and can be optionally fitted with the EdgeEase trimmer arm. The R730, on the other hand, comes with this feature as standard, mows up to 4,000 square meters per day, has a larger 270 Wh battery (instead of 180 Wh), and also features an infrared sensor for detecting living obstacles such as hedgehogs. All models use AI Vision and LiDAR for obstacle avoidance.

In any case, the Anthbot R7 navigates using HoloSense, a combination of dual LiDAR, vision, and PPP-RTK (Precise Point Positioning Real-Time Kinematic). It also features all-wheel drive with six motors, which, according to the manufacturer’s claims, allow the robotic mower to climb slopes of up to 40 degrees (84 percent) and clear obstacles up to 7 cm high.

The Anthbot R7 is scheduled to launch for the 2027 gardening season. Prices start at $1,899 for the all-wheel-drive flagship model, while the top-of-the-line R730 has a suggested retail price of $2,599.

Anthbot R5: All-Wheel-Drive Robotic Lawn Mower for Smaller Gardens

Positioned below the flagship R7 is the equally new R5. This more compact robotic mower also features all-wheel drive for slopes up to 70 percent, but with its simple cutting deck, it is designed for smaller areas. Here, too, there will be several models covering areas between 600 and 1,500 square meters, which can be optionally equipped with the edge trimmer arm.

Sales are also scheduled to begin in 2027. Anthbot has not yet provided any information on pricing.
