Bitmo Lab has updated its Gamebaby case accessory for a new swathe of iPhones. To recap, over a year has passed since the company released an innovative two-part case for the iPhone 15 Pro Max and iPhone 16 Pro Max (curr. $866 - refurbished on Amazon). As we discussed at the time, Bitmo Lab's design allows the bottom half of the case to be flipped around and act as a dedicated controller for emulating Game Boy and NES games, or other systems that rely upon two action buttons.
Now, the company has revealed plans to update its accessories for the iPhone 17 Pro series. Incidentally, this accessory should fit the Xiaomi 17 Pro and or the Xiaomi 17 Pro Max, given that Xiaomi's Retro Handheld Console Case fits an iPhone 17 Pro. However, we doubt that the new Gamebaby would be easy to match up with on-screen controls on either of Xiaomi's latest flagships.
Setting that aside, the new Gamebaby rejigs the button layout of the variant that Bitmo Lab currently sells for the iPhone 15 Pro Max and iPhone 16 Pro Max. For example, the iPhone 17 Pro and Pro Max editions have lost the extra button above their A/B buttons but gained a split d-pad reminiscent of DualShock controllers. Apparently, Bitmo Lab has improved button quality too, although it remains to be seen when this new accessory will be available, let alone for how much.
